Shark surveillance drone are now operation year-round

Shark surveillance drones are now operating year-round across Waverley's beaches as part of the NSW Government's expanded shark management program.  

The increased drone coverage means:

 Daily monitoring throughout the year, including winter

 Patrols from 6.30am-4.15pm in winter, with extended hours during summer

 Surveillance at both patrolled and popular unpatrolled beaches

 Enhanced technology, including artificial intelligence, to help spot sharks and alert lifeguards and beachgoers

Drone surveillance is another important tool helping keep our community safe while enjoying the coastline. Remember to always swim between the red and yellow flags, check conditions before heading to the beach and follow the advice of lifeguards.
